Btw, at the asterisk, I don’t usually do this, but if you listen to the song at that point, maybe you’ll get as hot and bothered as I did.
Read on.
Once out of eyesight, you both burst out laughing in the middle of sidewalk, gathering the attention of passersby. “DoJin? As in the character from Gentleman’s Dignity?” “How’d you know?” You chuckled. “Come on let’s get home, I’m starved.”
“So, you gotta tell me, how you ended up getting chased by a bunch of girls. Where were your body guards? Where’s Changmin? I’m sorry but from my point of view, it looked awfully careless.”
“It was a bit, on my part. Changmin isn’t feeling too well right now. And it was already getting so late that I didn’t want to bother anyone…so I just threw on a hat and some glasses and hoped no one would recognize me. I needed to get him some medicine. Unfortunately, my glasses weren’t dark enough, a girl shouted my name and I was being swarmed. But I figured if I could get to a train I could get away…so they chased me.” He explained as he stirred his noodles.
“Well be glad I was there to save you. You looked as if you feared for your life. Though I’m pretty sure it changed to fearing for my life after I helped you escape.” You chuckled nervously, slurping the noodles in your mouth.
“Yeah. I’m really glad that you were there to save me.” He smiled at you. You paused your eating for a second to take him in. His eyes were warm and soft, and his smile was loving and genuine. You could feel your heart pick up it’s pace a bit. “Oh it’s nothing! I save Korean Idols as a hobby!” You laughed between eating your noodles and chuckling nervously like you had gone mad.
He stared at you a bit longer and went back to eating his noodles. “I really respect you.” “For what?” “Usually, some people would try to find out all of my business. But not you.” “What are we?” “Huh?” “What are we?” You repeated.
“You and I. We’re the same thing.” “Human?” “And what do all humans have?” “There’s a lot,” “Feelings.” He looked at you with an emotion you couldn’t place. “I have feelings. You have feelings. I might trample or bring up unpleasant memories if I go prying into your life. I have my own secrets too. As a human being, there must at least be that must respect.” You finished, getting up to wash your bowl.
Turning on the water, you began to pour in the soap when you felt two arms reach around you and a bowl land in the sink. “I’m going to go use the bathroom.” “It’s that way.” You replied weakly. After he had left you, you immediately collapsed into a heap of goo.
‘What. Just. Happened?!?!’ You screamed in your head. Your face was hot. Your hands were hot. Your body felt like a live wire. Even though it had happened mere seconds ago, it replayed in your head. “Gotta think about something else, gotta listen to music and take my mind off of it.” You told yourself in your native language, you were so shocked.
Grabbing your iPod, you slipped the headphones over your ears and turned to your KPop playlist. The first song that played was Wonder Girls –Tell Me. You knew a few of the moves because you liked to learn moves of your favorite dances. You completely lost yourself in the music, not noticing that you had gone through at least 5 more songs and Yunho hadn’t shown his face again.
As you were putting the dishes out to dry, your favorite song came on: Before U Go – TVXQ. You felt the smooth beat flow through you as Yunho began to sing. Forgetting there was another person in your house you danced your way to the living room, singing a bit. “Igeot maneun algo ga…” you sang with all your heart. You did a light twirl and froze in place.
Yunho was there hands in pocket, in only a tanktop, leaning against the doorway. The sexy song playing in your ears was not helping. “You were doing great, keep going.” He smirked. “How long were you there?” You managed to get out. “I started to come out when you had started singing my hoobaes song, What is Love. I’m pretty sure the words aren’t ripito fipito sipi slow motion though.”
“Oh…” You chuckled nervously.
‘Damn it all to hell.’ You cursed in your head. ‘Could I not embarrass myself further while he’s here? What’re you going to do next? Fall flat on your face after tripping on air?
“Well I’m glad you listen to our music.” “Of course I do. Obligation of being a Cassie.” “If you want, I’ll dance for you. As payment for taking care of me.” “No, that is not necessary because that’s not even my favorite one.” “Really?” He asked seeming genuinely surprised. “What is it then?”
Honey Funny Bunny.*
You answered in your head. “Keep Your Head Down.” You lied smoothly. “It’s so hard hitting and awesome, I love it.” You continued with a smile on your face.
“I don’t believe you. In fact, I think I know which dance is your favorite.” “Take a guess.” You challenged, you were never going to say it yourself.
“Honey babe…you’re my babe…” he began in a sultry voice getting closer to you. You were frozen in place, your limbs refused to listen to you as he walked toward you.
“You know?” He finished holding your chin in his hands. You nodded dumbly, lost in his gaze.
“Don’t stop, hurry and come to me. Please close your eyes. Don’t talk, wait a little more. Calm your shaking hand.” He sang to you. You hadn’t really realized it, but his hand had brought you closer to him and his arm had wrapped around your waist. Unconsciously your hands had rested at his waist.
“I will melt you with my heart that is moister than a chocolate cookie. More than chocolate marshmallows oh my love~ I will melt your heart that is thicker than aroma fragrances. Please accept my heart.”
Through the haze you noticed your body was warm…a pleasant warm like bath water. You and Yunho were touching now, bodies close where no air could pass through. ‘This is real right?’ You asked yourself as he continued to sing while at your neck. “Honey Funny Bunny, softly like a sweet scent, day by day~” Those words had sounded ridiculous no matter how much you loved the song but now they were the sexiest thing anyone had ever said to you.
“Honey Funny Bunny, like hot fireworks, like a deep first kiss. Honey honey, honey honey~ you’re so sweet~” He sang quietly, his hand having left your chin and both were on your waist now. “Funny funny, funny funny~ you’re so fresh~” Your arms had made their way to link around his neck, now putting you closer together than you were before. “Bunny bunny, bunny bunny~I want to be in your arms and dream for always~”
Was he always this close to my face?
Does that matter?
You were breathing each other’s air, breathing deeply as if you had been running laps on a track. “Yunho.” You whispered sliding your eyes closed blissfully. I will treasure this moment for the rest of my,
Darkness.
Both of you flew far from each other, scared out of your minds. Your attention turned to your phone ringing on the table. You quickly picked it up and grabbed it. It was your friend Kayla, she was Canadian and lived a floor down. “Hey, what’s up?” “What’s up? There’s a freaking storm blowing around outside! And the power just went out!” Looking up toward the window, you noticed your friend was right.
‘Were we so wrapped up in our little world?’
“Well yeah, but why’re you calling?” You brushed it off. “They said that they’ll be working on it. But we might not have air or power until the morning.” “Well it’s already almost eleven so, it won’t be long.” “I know. Just wanted to let you know. If you need me, call.” “Sure thing. Talk to ya later.” “Bye.”
Hanging up the phone, you looked out the window. ‘If the power is out Yunho can’t charge his phone even though it’s broken…why’s it broken anyway? But will he have to stay here? Or will he try and get home? And…just now…what happened? There’s eight years between us and we just met each other today! Are you crazy or what? This isn’t some smutt fanfic on tumblr!’
Sighing you gazed at your phone. Maybe if I just act casual…
“So Yunho,” you turned around and he was gone. “Yunho?” You looked around the combined living room and kitchen and he was nowhere. “Yunho?” You called a bit louder, walking through the hall checking your bed room. “Yunho!” You practically shouted. A door opened behind you and you swung around. “Yunho?” “Please stay away from me.”
‘What?’
“What do you mean?” “I…we just met each other and this isn’t right. Plus I don’t need any scandals. Especially with a weigukin. I’d be done for. Sorry.” And he shut the door in your face.
You stood there stupidly for a second dumbfounded.
‘Scandal?
Foreigner?
Isn’t right?’
The anger had finally boiled up inside of you and you slammed a fist into your door. “Dammit Yunho! How dare you mess with my feelings like that! I respected you dammit! In fact, when I just started liking you I told myself not the fall in love with you because you never I existed! Because you would marry some Korean girl! Because I would’ve been okay just being your friend if I got to meet you at all! And you just toss me aside, because I’m a foreigner! Well you can kiss my ass!”
Heaving and face red, you kicked the door for good measure, though you hurt your toe. “You’re stuck here anyway until the storm passes! But as soon as it’s over I don’t want to se your face anymore! I want you gone soon as the sun is up, or I’ll deal with you myself!”
With a final huff, you stomped into your room, slamming the door behind you.
Plopping on your bed, you grabbed a pillow and crushed it in your arms.
‘This is why you told yourself this. This is why. Because he would never know you exist.’
‘He’s right in the next room’ another side of you answered.
‘Because you’re a foreigner and you’re too young.’
‘Age is just a number if it’s love.’
‘Because it would hurt.’
‘…’
